HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MARCH 4, 2025 REGULAR SESSION

On its 9th Regular Session held on March 4, 2025, the 20th City Council passed and approved on Third and Final Reading, Ordinance No. 0770-25, Series of 2025, entitled “An Ordinance Prescribing Design Standards for Davao City Highways, Roads and Streetscape”.

 

Further, the Body likewise approved Resolution No. 04141-25, Series of 2025, and its Ordinance on Second Reading, entitled “Enacting an Ordinance granting legislative authority to the City Mayor to sign, for and in behalf of the City of Davao, the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to be entered into by and between Brokenshire College Soccsksargen, Inc., and the City of Davao for the purpose of supporting the On-the-Job Training of the Bachelor of Science in  Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Psychology Student-Trainees”.

Resolution No. 04153-25, and its corresponding Ordinance No. 0771-25, both Series of 2025, was approved under Suspended Rules, enacting an Ordinance authorizing the City Mayor to enter into and sign, for and in behalf of the City Governmet of Davao, the Memorandum of Understanding for the Financial Assistance to Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability (IDIS) Inc., with project Code No. 9997-34 of the City of Davao for Calendar Year (CY) 2024 and Document Number 01124-74.

 

During the Privilege Hour, Councilor Trisha Ann J. Villafuerte adverted to the celebration of Women’s Month, emphasizing the importance of women in all aspects of society. She highlighted the celebration’s theme, “BABAYE SA TANANG SECTOR: NAGAPANIGURADO ANG MALAMBUONG KAUGMAON”, which emphasizes women’s contributions to a prosperous future.

 

Lastly, Resolution No. 04154-25, Series of 2025, was approved under Privileged Motion, Congratulating, Commending and Extending the Body’s full support to the Academic Scholar Students of MAPUA Malayan Colleges Mindanao, namely: James Zedric Pandarawan, Dwayne Zildren A. Go, Gabriel Paul B. Pacatang, and their coaches, Ms. Cheryl Jean D. Coritico and Mr. Ben Jay-Me G. Seguritan, for making Dabawenyos proud by representing Davao City and Region 11 and Winning and Bagging  various top Robotics competition Awards and Commendations on a Regional Level held in Nabunturan National High School (Champion), Ateneo de Davao University (Champion), and National Level (Champion-Free Style Category-University of Makati) and for being selected as a qualifier to represent the Philippines in the International Robotics Competition in Ohio, USA and Romania, respectively, with their AI-Robot named “TINA” (Thinking, Interactive Neural Assistant) that has the capacity to answer various humanly questions and to provide mathematical solutions, authored by Councilor Jonard C. Dayap.
