In support of the National Disability Rights Week, the 21^st City Council passed and approved Resolution No. 009-25, Series of 2025, entitled “Showing Support for the National Disability Rights Week 2025” during its 2^nd Regular Session held on July 8, 2025, sponsored by Councilor Lorenzo Benjamin D. Villafuerte. The recently passed Ordinances of the 20^th City Council such as the establishment of PDAO (Ord. No. 043-22, Series of 2022), free movie access for PWDs (Ord. No. 0765-25, Series of 2025 and Ord. No. 0730-24, Series of 2024) and the Comprehensive Persons With Disability Rights and Privileges (Ord. No. 0844-25, Series of 2025) were significant measures in order to accomplish the objective established by this year’s theme, “Innovation for Inclusion: Building Communities Together”.

Moreover, the Body likewise approved the following measures under Suspended Rules, to wit:

 

In relation to the Samal Island-Davao City Connector (SIDC) Project and the recent issuance of the Writ of Kalikasan by the Supreme Court of the Philippines, the City Council invited the petitioners of the Writ of Kalikasan and the Department of Public Works and Highways to appear before the 21st Council on its upcoming session, to shed light on the matter.

With Acting Vice Mayor Rodrigo S. Duterte II presiding, the following legislation were passed and approved by the 21^st City Council during their Inaugural Session held on July 1, 2025, to wit:

The Body likewise approved Resolution No. 0005-25, Series of 2025, “Nominating the Chairpersons, Vice Chairpersons, and Members of the Standing Committees of the 21^st City Council”, to wit:

Immediately after the election of the Sanggunian Officers, the oath taking administered by Atty. Charizma Cortez-Catague, a Notary Public for and in behalf of Davao City, followed. The designation of Mr. Jim C. Operario as Sergeant-at-Arms was then approved by virtue of the passage of Resolution No. 0007-25, Series of 2025. After the Inaugural Speeches of the newly-elected City Councilors, Resolution No. 0008-25, Series of 2025, authored by Councilor Luna Maria Dominique S. Acosta, entitled “Amending Rule 7, Section 34, of the House Rules of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Davao City, changing the time of the Regular Session to 1:00 P.M., was passed and approved.
